Managing a left brain right brain argument – or my personal journey through science, tech and creativity
Trying to decide on what career you follow can be difficult, especially when you’re early in you’re studying or early in career. Amali is the Chief Executive of Code First: Girls, a company that focuses on increasing the number of women in tech and entrepreneurship. Her studies and career have seen her going from engineering to shoe design, from quantitative research to managing a company. In this talk she will be sharing more about her journey, and why she doesn’t believe you always need to have a perfect plan but can still have a rewarding career.

Vita: Amali de Alwis is CEO of Code First: Girls, a multi-award winning social enterprise that works to increase the number of women in tech and entrepreneurship. Over the past 3 years they’ve provided £2.5 million+ of free tech education, and are the largest provider of free in person coding courses for women in the UK. Outside of the day job, Amali is on the steerco at Tech Talent Charter, a CommonwealthFirst mentor, Chair of BIMA Diversity panel, and a fellow at the RSA.
