Dr. Kira Marrs
Researcher at the Institute for Social Science Research (ISF Munich)Leads research and practice-based projects on New Work, diversity, and digital transformation, and advises companies on developing future-oriented, inclusive work models.
Dr. Kira Marrs is an impactful researcher and strategic thought leader operating at the intersection of academia, business, and politics. For over ten years, she has led interdisciplinary research and transfer projects on digital transformation, New Work, diversity, and future-proof work organization—with a particular focus on women in tech, leadership, and agile transformation. Her (in part international) research projects are commissioned by and carried out in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the German Research Foundation, social partners, DAX-listed corporations, and innovation partners.
As a moderator and speaker, Kira bridges the perspectives of research, business, and policy—appearing at events such as Hannover Messe, the Audi Future Conference, #100TechFrauen, and ministry-led initiatives.
She contributes to the ZEIT Academy (“Women in Leadership”) and was recognized as one of the “25 Women Changing Our Society” (EDITION F, ZEIT ONLINE, Handelsblatt). Her research is regularly featured in leading professional and mainstream media such as FAZ, Forbes, Gabler, Haufe, Bayerischer Rundfunk, and Deutschlandfunk.
With a strong professional network, international research experience, and many years of project work with both large corporations and SMEs, Kira actively shapes the digital world of work—inclusive, innovative, and impact-driven.
Kira earned her PhD at the Technical University of Darmstadt with a dissertation on new performance concepts in the service economy. She studied sociology, psychology, and criminology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
