Maria Noichl, MdEP

Maria Noichl has been a Member of the European Parliament again since 2024. She is a member of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) and the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM). She is also a substitute member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) and the Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI). She is also involved in several delegations, including the Union for the Mediterranean and EU-Ukraine.
From 2014 to 2024, Noichl was an MEP specialising in agricultural policy, gender equality and human rights. Her political principles include advocating for a social, democratic and united Europe. She fights against wage dumping, tax evasion and in favour of stronger democratic structures – with conviction, as she says, ‘because Europe is more than just a crooked cucumber.’
In addition to her mandate, she has been Chairwoman of the German Association for Landcare (DVL) since 2022 and part of the rotating board of Landcare Europe e. V. since 2023. At federal level, she has been a co-opted member of the SPD party executive since 2018 and Federal Chairwoman of SPD Women (formerly AsF) since 2021. Previously, she was a member of the state parliament in Bavaria (2008-2013), a city councillor in Rosenheim (2002-2014) and chairwoman of the SPD Rosenheim Stadt.
Maria Noichl worked as a specialist teacher for nutrition and design. After training as a specialist teacher, she also took on managerial roles, for example as the manager of a retirement home. Until her election to the European Parliament in 2014, she worked at a state vocational school.
Maria Noichl was born in Rosenheim in 1967, is the mother of two sons and grandmother of five grandchildren.
