Silke Marlen Backhaus joined Ströer Media Deutschland GmbH in 2022 as Senior Vice President Sales Operations, where she is responsible for managing over 200 employees at more than 10 locations across Germany.

In this role, she manages the regional internal sales department, which includes the Sales Operations, Media Planning, Complaints Management and Sales Marketing units. Together with her teams, she ensures close and successful cooperation between customers, sales and marketing in order to increase customer satisfaction, optimise processes, provide optimal sales support and achieve sales targets. Silke is a bank clerk, holds an MA in Media Studies, Psychology and German Studies, and joined Ströer in 2009 in media planning. Through various integrations and reorganisations, Silke has gained extensive expertise in the areas of change and process management as well as strategic organisational development. Her focus and passion in her role are all topics related to leadership and employee development.

And that is exactly what she demands and promotes in her own unit and as a mentor in women’s networks and internal talent programmes.
She is also involved in the Ströer empowHER programme. Silke is committed to inspiring teams and driving change in order to achieve joint and sustainable success.
