Feminizidmap - Monitoring Agency for Femi(ni)cides in Germany
Although a woman is killed almost every day in Germany—often by her (ex) partner or other male relative—femi(ni)cides are incompletely documented and insufficiently recognized and addressed. Feminizidmap was founded as a direct response to this gap. The association’s goal is to document and analyze femi(ni)cides in a way that reflects its systemic dimensions, in order to make these killings visible and subject to critical debate. Its main concern is also to promote further research, informed advocacy, effective political measures, sustainable prevention, and civil society engagement.

Naming the Violence: Feminicide, Media, and the Politics of Visibility
Beziehungstat, Ehedrama, Tragödie – relationship problem, marital drama, tragedy? How does media shape our understanding of feminicide? In this MeetUp, we explore the gap between reality and representation in cases of gender-based killings. Through examples from Germany and Turkey, we will discuss how language can normalize violence or make it visible. Participants will learn how media narratives affect public awareness, legal processes, and political action.
