Katharina Schulze

Chairwoman Parliamentary Group
Group Alliance 90/The Greens

Katharina Schulze (39) characterises the profile of the Bavarian Greens like no other. She has led the parliamentary group in the state parliament since 2017 and has twice been the lead candidate in the state election campaign. Her goal: to make Bavaria the first federal state in which genuine equality, ecological sustainability and digital opportunities are a matter of course – a cosmopolitan free state whose economy has a future and in which all people can live freely, safely and self-determined lives.

She grew up in the west of Munich, in Herrsching am Ammersee. She studied Intercultural Communication, Political Science and Psychology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Her internship with the Democratic Party in Michigan, USA, took her right into the middle of the campaign for Obama’s first term. After that there was no doubt: it was time for her to get involved in politics! That’s why she joined the Green Youth Munich, where she was chairwoman from January 2009 to January 2011. From 2010 to 2015, Katharina Schulze was the female chairwoman of the Munich Green Party.
