Prof. Iris Bohnet

Behavioural Economist, Gender Policy Expert, Author

Iris Bohnet is a global advocate for women and gender equality. She is a behavioural economist who combines insights from economics and psychology in her work. She is the author of the award-winning book “What Works: Gender Equality by Design” (Harvard University Press, 2016). The book was released in Germany the following year.

Bohnet’s research and insights are valued around the world. She has been appointed to the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council in 2021. Originally from Switzerland, the mother of two has lived in Massachusetts, USA for many years. She has been appointed to the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council in 2021. She is currently Albert Pratt Professor of Business and Government at Harvard Kennedy School (HKS)  and Co-Director of the Women and Public Policy Program at HKS.
