Stefanie Hornung

Journalist, author and New Pay initiator

As a journalist and author, Stefanie Hornung has been engaged in issues related to the working world and equal opportunities for more than fifteen years. She regularly writes about human resources and management topics for the magazines “Personalmagazin” and “neues lernen.”

Since 2017, she has been investigating how companies can create fairer compensation systems and has co-authored the books “New Pay” (2019) and “New Pay Journey” (2023) as part of a team of authors. She also drives this topic forward as a co-founder of the “New Pay Collective,” a network that supports organizations in redesigning their compensation systems and initiates research on compensation processes. Additionally, she serves as a speaker at the New Pay Campus, focusing on performance and communication. Stefanie Hornung is the author of the newsletter “Gehaltvolle Zeilen,” which regularly reports on new forms of compensation and societal developments related to money and salaries.

Stefanie Hornung studied German studies, Romance languages (Spanish), and history in Freiburg i. Br. She worked as the press spokesperson for the largest German human resources trade fair, Zukunft Personal (now: Zukunft Personal Europe), for many years, and was also the editor-in-chief of the online portal HRM.de. Currently, she lives and works in Tübingen.
